Planning workshops set the stage for engagement

Local GPs and the Happy, Healthy, at Home team are in the midst of hosting a series of workshops to discuss different ways of connecting with local people to gather input on out of hospital services in our area.

These planning workshops are being held in each locality and bring together patient representatives from surgeries, Community Ambassadors, the voluntary sector and others. Presenters discuss what is driving the need for change, what the new model of care might look like in each locality, and, most importantly, how we should go about engaging the local community to get feedback.

At the end of these workshops, we aim to have a clear view of how we need to engage, what we need to talk to local people about and where we need to go to reach them.

In the coming weeks, we will be putting these plans into action by reaching out into each locality to engage with local people and gather opinions. Feedback from patients and the general public is essential to ensure the right kinds of care and services are provided in our communities.
